Using the Site

 

Registration and Login

When browsing the Ealing Help site, you can choose to become a registered user. Registering allows you access to features such as the Discussion Area where you can take part in online discussions with other registered users. To register yourself on the Ealing Help site simply click the 'Register' button located in the top left area of your screen and fill in the appropriate details. Once you have completed the registration process and clicked 'continue' you will receive a confirmation message which will include your username and password, your username will be generated for you by the system and cannot be changed. You will also receive a email confirming your details. Once registered you can login at anytime using the 'Login' button located next to the 'Register' button.


Site Navigation

Navigation through the Ealing Help website is done through the menus to the left of the screen. To access a section simply click on the title link on the left menu. Some sections have sub-navigation areas that will display below the selected link once it has been selected. As you navigate through the Ealing Help site you will see a 'breadcrumb trail' form at the top of the page. This shows you where you are in the site in relation to the homepage and provides a quick and handy way to navigate back through your path you have chosen. To use the breadcrumb links simply click on the link to be taken back to the previous pages.


Other Features

There are a number of other features that are available on the Ealing Help site. These are listed on the right of the page.

The Latest News headlines are displayed at the top right of the page providing you with quick access to the full news story with a single click. You can also click the 'View all News' link to see a complete list of all recent news stories.

The Discussion Area allows you to participate in online discussions with other users of the Ealing Help site. You need to be a registered user in order to access this feature (see above).

My Directory allows you to create your own personalised list of services from those that you see listed on the Ealing Help site. When viewing the details of a particular service you can click 'Add to my directory', which will be on the right of the screen, to add the service to your My Directory service listing. This saves you the time of having to find the service a second by placing it into your personalised area. You need to be a registered user in order to access this feature (see above).
