Welcome to our second Newsletter and we hope you find plenty of useful information both here and at the other end of the various links!
ESCAN (Ealing Support for Children with Additional Needs)
Our contact details for ESCAN are now up to date and you can find out all about them by visiting the ESCAN page. The Health sections will be joining the others shortly and as soon as we have contact details we will let you know.
Children with Disabilities Register
ESCAN are updating the children with disabilities register and need YOUR help.
They are required by law to keep a register of all children in the community who have physical disabilities, learning disabilities or special needs
The information will be used to help the council plan better services for the future.
The EDCM (Every Disabled Child Matters) campaign has called for all local authorities to know how many children there are in the area with disabilities, what kinds of difficulties they have, what services they use and so on.
The existing register is out of date and we need your help to update it. Over the next few weeks you will receive a form to complete. PLEASE fill it in and return it to us.
The completion of this form is voluntary but the more people who send it back the better the information will be.
Information will be stored securely in line with the requirements if the Data Protection Act 1988. No names or identifying features are ever used, only anonymous data.

Updating your information
You can now update your information on our site. Next time you log on please use the 'Click here to Update your registration details' link to do exactly that. There are now over a 100 of you registered with us so please let any of your friends who could benefit know about us and make sure that they register too. The more the merrier. Seriously though, as our communications improve we will be attempting to let you know about any developments that could affect you or your children as soon as possible. Equally, if you have something to share then don't hold back, please let us know.
Resources and Reading Categories
Not only promised but delivered. It is now a lot easier to find information in the Resources and Reading section thanks to the 'selection by category' feature, whether you're looking for books for your kids or information for yourself. Why not have a look now?
Latest News
Make sure you catch up on the latest news and also visit the Newsletter section. My favourite at the moment is the thoughts on handwriting and pencil grip. Important for all children but particularly for those with poor muscle tone and learning difficulties.
