As you have a child with a disability there are various benefits
which can help you care for your child. Find out as soon as
possible what is available. You can do this in many different
ways:
- Talk to your health visitor.
- Contact your local Citizens' Advice Bureau.
- Network with other parents.
- Have a look at the following websites:
www.direct.gov.uk
: information about disability.
www.dwp.gov.uk
: information on benefits from the Dept of Work and Pensions.
www.inlandrevenue.gov.uk
: information on tax including tax credits.
|
Benefit forms can be obtained from:
- the Benefits Enquiry Line: 0800 882200
- from your local Benefits Agency: (020) 8258 3000
If English is not your first language and you need help please
ring your local Benefits Office or Benefits Agency. They should have
a selection of leaflets on all benefit entitlements, some in other
languages, to assist you.
