The Ealing Service for Children with Additional Needs (ESCAN) formerly known as the Integrated Services for Children and Young People with Disabilities is a joint initiative between Ealing Primary Care Trust and Ealing Council.
The service is working towards a shared vision of a single point of information with improved access to referral, assessment and appropriate interventions for children and young people with disabilities in the borough.
In order to fully achieve integrated processes and front-line delivery the service are moving all staff into one site creating a specialist centre where professionals and families can access advice, information and services. It will enable the service to:
- Provide one central referral point.
Have a single referral process for easier access to the right services.
- Combine assessments so families do not have to repeat their information to several different professionals.
- Co-ordinate appointments, so children can have a number of appointments at the same site on the same day if appropriate.
